Ingredients:
1/2 cup dark molasses
1/2 cup cornmeal
2 cups half and half
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground ginger
2 cups heavy cream
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp nutmeg
4 cups milk
Cooking Directions:
Preheat oven to 275°F. Combine cornmeal with 1 cup milk and set aside. Pour remaining milk in a saucepan over medium heat. When milk begins to bubble, stir in cornmeal mixture in small batches. Cook about 15 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent lumps, until mixture is thickened. Remove from heat. Combine brown sugar and next 4 ingredients in a bowl. Stir into corn mixture. Add molasses and half and half. Pour into a buttered 2 quart baking dish and bake 2 hours. Set aside at least an hour. Serve warm with cream. Nutrition Facts
